Job Description

This is a unique position that exists to help the camp supervisor run a smooth and efficient camp. Duties are divided between daily responsibilities (ie: fueling generators, filling water bladders, fuel and garbage runs to town) that are consistent througout the season to the "challenges of the day" which can range from (not limited to):

  • delivering trees
  • delivering atv's
  • slinging trees with helicopter
  • pulling out stuck trucks or quads
  • taking planters in for physio or medical
  • planting burnpiles
  • running "special mission" plants

The perfect candidate would be responsible and trustworthy to be able to work alone much of the time (with safety checkins and monitoring), be creative with solutions to the many challenges in running planting operations, a safe and responsible driver (comfortable and competent with hauling trailers), adapatable to a constantly changing and challenging work environment, be aware and accepting of fluctuating hours of work in a day, be kind and supportive to the kitchen teams, the supervisor, the crew leaders and the planting camp.

 

Our camps are all bush camps. This role is based on a day rate to be discussed with potential hires. Pay is through direct deposit every two weeks and there is a remote workers allowance as well. There will be safety and certification trainings in:

Resource Road Truck Driving

ATV operations (Canada Safety Council)

First Aid

NSDP harassment education

UTV operations (Canada Safety Council)

Danger Tree Awareness

Windfirm Health and Safety Orientation
