Description & Qualifications
Job Description
Individuals will be working as First Aid Attendants at Forest Fire Locations, or camps.
Other duties may include some paperwork, operation of radios, etc. First Aid Attendants will not be required to perform firefighting duties.
Work can be anywhere in BC as required, but our main office is in Cranbrook.
We are preparing for the 2026 summer firefighting season and need individuals in place once the need arises.
Workers are on call, on an as needed, and when needed basis only.
A 12 hour work day is seen as typical once deployed. Each deployment can last up to 14 days at a time. There may be multiple deployments throughout the summer dependent on the Wildfire season. The fire season often begins in June and runs through until September annually. The demand for first aid attendants on wildland fires is dependent upon how many fires occur in a given summer: the fewer fires that occur means less work, and when there are many fires happening, this then leads to a very busy summer of work.
Daily pay rates for first year First Aid Attendants is as follows:
Regular Pay - $28.00/hour - 1st 8 hours
Time & ½ - $42.00/hour - for next 4 hours
Double Time - $56.00/hour – all work performed after 12 hours
Please note, that the pay rates will increase depending upon experience and qualifications from a starting wage of $28.00 up to $37.00 plus overtime.
