Job Description

The applicant is responsible to care for 2 children in a planting camp on work days and will collaborate with parents to create a safe and fun outdoor experience for the children. Shift rotations are 3 days on, 1 day off with the occasional 2 days off.

 

The position is for summer trees only, approximately 4 - 6 weeks starting after June 21.

 

Daily tasks include:

- Providing prepared lunches and snacks.

- Going for walks

- Reading books

- Changing diapers

- Arts and crafts

 

Meals will be provided on work days only. An outdoor kitchen is available for use. The applicant is expected to provide their own tent or other sleeping accommodations.

Participation in camp activities is welcome during the shift and on days off. Hiking, biking and other outdoor activities are readily available in the Mcbride / Valemount area.

 

A competitive salary will be discussed with the applicant and will partially be determined by the length of season.

 

The camp is located 30 mins from Mcbride and 45 mins from Valemount.

Certifications & Experience:

Previous experience caring for children under 5 years old.

 

Drivers license

 

First aid and planting camp experience is considered an asset.
